Saturday 9am-3pm is The Thrift With a Twist Fundraising Shop's World's Largest Yard Sale, at the Broome County Fairgrounds in Whitney Point.  If you love yard sales and garage sales, and didn't make it last year, prepare to be blown away.

Here are a few things you should know before heading to Whitney Point Saturday that even repeat visitors may find helpful.

1)  Bring sunscreen and comfortable shoes as the Broome County Fairgrounds can get hot.  As of this writing, temperatures are expected to be a humid 75 and partly sunny.  Click HERE for the latest forecast.

2)  Officials promise that parking and traffic will be under control this year.  A portion of the $2 admission proceeds will be donated to the New York State Trooper's Signal 30 Fund.

3)  Bring cash as most vendors will only take the green stuff.  There are ATM's nearby if you need them.

4)  Get there early.  Since it is giant yard sale, there is usually only one or two of each item.  Part of the fun of it is, you never know what you will find.  I always take a quick cruise around when I get there and go back to what caught my eye.

5)  Great food and cold beverages. Last year, I enjoyed the best barbecue of the Summer.  Prepare yourself for some good food at fair prices.

Have fun.  Click HERE for more information and see you at the Thrift With a Twist Shop's World's Largest Yard Sale 9-3 this Saturday, Route 11 in Whitney Point.
