'Parade Day' in Binghamton is without doubt, one of the biggest most celebrated days in the Southern Tier.  There's something about a good St. Patty's Day parade that brings people out in droves to celebrate in the streets.  We are in the process of shining up our new Hawkmobile since it's making it's first Parade Day appearance with Glenn, Traci, Rich and me.  It's always fun but there are a few things you should know before Saturday.

Parade Route:  First the parade begins at 1:30pm on Saturday March 5th.  The parade route runs from NYSEG Stadium to St. Mary's Church on Court Street and past Boscov's Department Store.  The best view is in front of the HAWK Studios at 59 Court Street.

Parking:  Bring a good pair of walking shoes as parking could be a challenge with the Collier Street ramp closed and parking on Court Street off limits during the parade.  There will be parking in the State Street ramp, at metered city parking and on city side streets.

Weather:  No snow but dress warm.  As of this writing, the forecast calls for a cloudy day with highs in the mid 30's.  Get the latest weather HERE.

Open Containers:  Open alcoholic container laws will be enforced by city police.

After Parade:  Law officials are cracking down on DWI offenders.  If you plan to party, designate a driver or call a cab for your safe return home.

Have fun and we'll see you at the parade Saturday afternoon!
