Brunch always seems to be a big deal on Sunday holidays like Easter and Mother's Day.  Growing up in Binghamton, I would always look forward to these holidays and my family would always opt for a big breakfast on Easter Sunday or even a late morning Brunch, after exploring the goodies the Easter Bunny left, of course.

Breakfast into lunch is one of those things you judge on quantity and quality.  Both are equally important in my book.  But should it be 50/50 breakfast/lunch, more breakfast less lunch or heavy on the lunch and less emphasis on the breakfast?  That's really up to your tastes.  I guess it should be based on when you arrive.

With that said here are some popular options to enjoy brunch this Easter Sunday:

  1. The Silo Restaurant - Beautiful anytime of the year and known for their Seafood Buffets and Sunday Brunch Buffets.  The Silo is very spacious and the setting is always pleasing to the eyes and pallet. The Silo Brunch features Chef Carved Leg of Lamb, Roast Beef, Turkey, Ham, Seafood Newburgh and a Belgian Waffle and Omelet stations.  9:30am-5:30pm  (607) 656-4377
  2. The Cellar - This is a favorite because again, they cater to the Brunch crowd all year.  House Smoked Salmon Strata, Broccoli Frittata, Ham and Turkey caught my eye.  (607) 687-2016
  3. Holiday Inn Binghamton -  Located downtown Binghamton across from the Arena, the Holiday Inn features a traditional spread with a nice selection.  (607) 722-1212
  4. Tranquil Bar & Bistro - Tranquil is a delicious little bistro located by NYSEG Stadium in Binghamton on Pine Street.  Not a typical "Brunch" but more of a fixed menu (think Restaurant Week) where you can choose 3 courses for a fixed price.  Selection includes Prime Rib, Glazed Ham and Cabernet Roasted Spring Leg of Lamb.  (607) 723-0495
  5. The Loft at Ninety Nine - At 99 Court Street, this is a popular downtown Binghamton brunch.  Easter Sunday has Ftittata, Egg Bennedict, Drunkin' Pasta and Steak and Eggs on the menu.  (607) 217-5911
