This time of year is so exciting and magical for kids that it's easy to forget that not all kids get to experience Christmas Eve filled with the excitement of Santa's arrival. There are lots of sick kids that can't be home for the holidays. That's why Delta Airlines teamed up with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta to make a lot of sick kids' Christmas dreams come true.

40 kids battling cancer got the surprise of their lives when limos picked them and their parents up from the hospital and took them to the airport for a trip to the North Pole to see Santa. When they got to the airport, every kid was issued a special boarding pass to the North Pole.

Here's where the real magic happens: since kids with advanced cancers can't actually travel, Delta loaded the kids on a plane, which never actually took off, but during the time they were "in flight" they created a North Pole at the gate.

Elves cheered as the kids deplaned and there was even snow. And, of course, everyone got to meet Santa and tell him everything on their list!
