Sometimes the best dates are those that are surprised upon you like dinner and a show.  Luckily Binghamton has lots of great talent that showcase in live theater like the Cider Mill Playhouse, The Forum and EPAC. Did you know there were great love shows happening in Owego, Afton and Greene?

This month, there outstanding plays in Endicott, Greene, Afton and Owego.  Take your pick or see them all.  I guarantee you will have a good time and you'll be supporting arts in the Southern Tier.

"Thoroughly Modern Millie": A high-spirited, zany new 1920's musical romp that had all of New York dancing the Charleston and took Broadway by storm. Taking place in New York City in 1922, it tells the story of young Millie Dillmount, who has just moved to the city in search of a new life for herself.  "Thoroughly Modern Millie" plays the Cider Mill Playhouse in Endicott through June 28th.  Click HERE for tickets and showtimes.

"The Velocity of Autumn":  The Velocity of Autumn swirls around Alexandra, a 79-year-old artist in a showdown with her family over where she'll spend her remaining years. In Alexandra's corner are her wit, her volcanic passion and the fact that she's barricaded herself in her Brooklyn brownstone with enough Molotov cocktails to take out the block. This very funny show plays the Chenango River Theatre, 991 State Highway 12 in Greene through Sunday, with shows Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 and a 2pm matinee on Sunday. ''Hank Williams: Lost Highway'':  A live musical biography of Hank Williams Sr. will be held this weekend at the Afton Community Theater. "Hank Williams - Lost Highway" will feature his original music. The performances will be held at the Afton Central School Auditorium June 12th and 13th at 7pm and Sunday June 14th at 2pm.  Tickets can be purchased at the door or call 607-267-8541.
