We are embarking on a vision to open a hospice home in the Fall of 2015. The inspiration for Mercy House came from Father Clarence Rumble's experience with Francis House in Syracuse which is a home for the terminally ill. Upon further community research, we found there was an overwhelming need for Mercy House.

Mercy House Southern Tier (formally known as St. Casmir's Church) will provide love, care and support for individuals who are terminally ill. Mercy House will be a comfortable ten-bed facility that embraces both patients and their families with the help they need while braving their last days with dignity. It will be staffed by both professionals and volunteers and will be equipped with a kitchen, library, chapel and a suite for families.

We are partnering with Lourdes Hospice. Lourdes will be the exclusive provider of hospice services to the residents of Mercy House. Unique care that includes:
• 24 hour care as an alternative to nursing home, hospital or at home care.
• Holistic care to residents physical needs, private bedrooms with cable TV and telephone
• Home cooked meals
• Open visiting hours for family and friends
As a private home, Mercy House is not eligible for any county, state, government or insurance reimbursement.

Mercy House will rely on people like you who generously donate either money or time, as well as donations received from foundations and corporations.
