With baseball in full swing and football returning next month, Binghamton sports fans have a lot to look forward to.  And let's face it, everyone likes a good baseball or football game. But it can be very time consuming watching your favorite team.  I bet there is something you didn't know about two of America's most popular sports.

Here's a fact to wow your friends with.  According to the 'Wall Street Journal,' the average three-hour baseball game contains 17 minutes and 58 seconds of action such as pitches, balls in play, running, and throws.  That's slightly better than the average football game.  The same source claims that football typically contains only 11 minutes of action time.

It's hard to believe that these popular American sports have so much non-action time.  tennis or soccer anyone?
